Dr. Leonardo A. Ortega is an Associate Professor of Psychology at FundaciĆ³n Universitaria Konrad Lorenz, Colombia. He obtained his undergraduate degree in psychology at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Experimental Psychology from Texas Christian University. Following this, he performed research as a postdoctoral fellow at Temple University. His research interests are related to two general areas. First, using animal models, to study the psychobiological effects of drugs of abuse like nicotine on motivation and learning processes relevant to addiction. Second, exploring and adapting to the Colombian context evidence-based intervention strategies to enhance parental skills in the context of adverse early experiences, using Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
