(Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia, Spain)
Dr. Gabriela E. López-Tolsa received her PhD in 2018 from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED, Spain). She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) before returning to UNED, where she supervises PhD and master’s students, conducts research, and works at the Learning and Animal Behaviour Laboratory, led by Ricardo Pellón. With nearly 15 years of experience in research involving animal models (rats, pigeons, and quails) across Mexico and Spain, she has also taken opportunities to visit laboratories in Colombia, Portugal, and the USA, and have collaborated with researchers from Norway, México, and New Zealand. Her main research interest lies in understanding the mechanisms through which behavior is acquired, organized, and maintained, particularly in relation to the inductions vs. reinforcement debate. She has also contributed to projects on topics such as timing, delay discounting, suboptimal choice, activity-based anorexia, and superstition.
